My life in their arms embraced

No friends were so near

There are times it's hard to say

There are thoughts it's hard to share,
And I wish you could be there:
See and hear, and even feel -
Prove what has been within sealed.

Errors in speech and in acts
Do belong to one's life's facts.
Though I'm sorry,
